Malak Sadek found his true calling for psychology later in his academic journey. He initially earned a bachelor's and master's degree in microbiology from McGill University. Malak returned to school and obtained an honors BSc in psychology from the University of Western Ontario. He now aims to enroll in a clinical/applied psychology graduate program. His research interests focus on the role of emotions in mental health, with a particular emphasis on evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions for various age groups, including adults and LGBTQ2SIA+ individuals. At the MAST Lab, Malak is working on assessing measures of emotion dysregulation and evaluating the efficacy of psychological interventions such as iDBT.
